A0 – Complete beginner (Starter, beginner)

✔️  little or no knowledge of English

✔️  just learning vocabulary, basic grammar and pronunciation

A1 – Beginner (Elementary)

✔️  knows basic vocabulary and has the basics of grammar

✔️  is able to passively understand sentences and words related especially to his person, basic phrases and everyday life (topics like family, hobbies, food..) 

✔️  can converse in less complex sentences and answer simple questions if the other speaker speaks to him slowly and patiently

A2 – Pre-Intermediate

✔️  understands spoken and written speech, especially on topics that concern him personally

✔️  vocabulary becomes concrete and knowledge of English grammar deepens

✔️  can answer questions and have a simple but meaningful conversation in English

B1 - Intermediate (Intermediate)

✔️  understands spoken and written speech without problems, can talk about various topics and describe abstract concepts

✔️  speech is fluent, has a larger vocabulary and knows common English phrases

✔️  can respond spontaneously and describe his plans or experiences 

✔️  recognizes formal and informal language

 

B2 – Upper-Intermediate

✔️  can converse fluently even on more professional topics, express his opinion, explain and justify his opinions

✔️  understands more complex phrases, idioms and can distinguish accents

✔️   is able to write more complex continuous text such as an essay or a reflection

C1 – Advanced (Advanced)

✔️  can understand foreign language professional texts

✔️  recognizes implicit meanings

✔️   communicates fluently and quickly

✔️  expresses his thoughts flexibly and meaningfully

✔️  the written speech is clearly structured and articulated 

✔️  can write more extensive texts on professional topics

C2 – Native speaker level (Proficient)

✔️ at first glance, there is no noticeable difference between C2 and a native speaker
✔️
  is able to understand foreign language written and spoken speech without difficulty

✔️  expression is fluent, understandable, concrete and spontaneous

✔️  masters phrases, technical terms and slang

✔️   is able to express his opinions, discuss various topics without grammatical errors and using correct pronunciation
